Welcoming Baylee

Baylee came 7 weeks early. She was given her apgar test and immediately taken from us to get cleaned up and go to the nursery. She was set up on a nebulizer and had all sorts of cords connected to her. We were finally able to hold her about an hour before we were discharged from the hospital. We were only able to hold her once a shift for a maximum of thirty minutes. (That means we each got 15 minutes with her every 12 hours). She was also doing well enough to switch from the neb to oxygen from a cannula. After 3 weeks we were finally able to bring Baylee home! She came home with oxygen and an apnea monitor which was sure to wake the people in the basement. The next 3 weeks were hard but rewarding. We were so grateful when she started sleeping through the night! (her name is spelled wrong on the sign:)
