Us Against Them

Baylee laid teddy down on the couch and started tickling his arm. Dustin and I were both surprised. Then she tried laying down next to him as if she wanted him to lay on her belly while she tickled his back and watched tv. Something we seem to do quite often with Bays. Dustin asked her, do you want teddy to lay on your belly? She signaled her yes by lifting up her dress to lay teddy on her bare belly. We couldn't stop laughing.

One of my new favorite things that Baylee does: I often tell her to "go ask dad" this or that. To put her shoes on, to open it, if he's ready to go, etc. etc. right? And she does! She walks around, finds Dustin, and when she's close enough, "Daaaa!!"

Baylee's been in a big girl bed for a bit now. She does really well. I didn't have the right hardware for the first two days and I wasn't about to put it back into a crib when I worked on taking it down. So we just let her sleep haphazardly for two nights. The first night was a success even though I was scared out of my mind when we went to check on her and her head was just barely hanging over the edge. The second night, however, was not quite as lucky as the first. I woke up to Baylee at 5am. Sure enough, she had fallen right out of her bed. Haha poor baby.

Tonight we got home from the Fausett's and decided to finish watching Tangled. I sort of decided to let Baylee stay up until the movie was over then we'd change her diaper and get her into bed. I did take her clothes off, but no jammies yet, considering we'd just have to undo them to change her bum. So here we are, nakey baby, watching a movie as a family. Movie ends and I ask Baylee if we can change her bum. Of course she does her normal cuddle into the couch don't move a muscle sort of "no" thing. We try to urge her on and she finds my teddy bear on the floor. She's started to take a bit of a liking to teddy now. It's very cute! She likes to play with him and carry him around hugging him. Pretty much my favorite!! So we say ok bring teddy. She does and we get to her room and she lays teddy down on her changing pad. Ok, should we put a diaper on teddy? "ump." Alright, so she helps us put on teddy's diaper. We do this ...

I want to get Baylee familiar with the potty. Too bad I've been too lazy lately, but we tried a little bit. Buy her a Baylee sized potty though and things are already looking brighter!

It's officially done. We finished a matter of minutes ago! And I'm going to post our increase from week one compared to today's. (I'm putting up Dustin's too, because, well DANG!) I will not miss your face. While this has been a love hate relationship, I think I look forward to this "break". I don't think we shall see each other again for quite some time. You were difficult! I suppose we're leaving on decent terms. While I see no difference in my physical appearance, I do feel better about myself! I feel so accomplished to be able to say, "yeah, I did 'Insanity'". I do feel that I progressed during those 9 weeks of torture. And I will compare my numbers tomorrow when I see your face one last time, for at least a year or two, maybe more, to do our final fit test! So I guess this is it. Goodbye Shaun T.
