Maverick Ice Cream

Image
Dustin came home with this winner tonight! Apparently at maverick it cost two dollars for a cup of ice cream but you can fill it as much as you want.

Sleep Talking

Apparently sleep talking runs in our family. Just last night Dustin was talking chemistry or something to me but was snoring literally seconds later. Well today Baylee napped on the couch and she started sleep talking! It sounded like she said catch me. Then I think she said something like I want to lay on (something). Must've been a cow or a giraffe because immediately after she woke up she wanted to see a cow. Then she started whining and crying and looking out the window because she wanted to see the giraffe. I had to google some pictures of giraffes just to appease her.

Wednesdays Suck!

Image
It's no secret that I have been struggling with accepting Dustin's new calling in the deacons' quorum. I hate myself for it too by the way. I've been praying a lot to be a better support to my husband. What make me most upset about me feeling this way is that the Lord called Dustin to this position so therefore me being mad about it is essentially me being mad and unaccepting of the Lord. I don't want to be like that. Anyway the reason I hate Wednesdays is because I don't get to see my husband much. It's his longest day of school, he's out the door before I'm out of bed and then home just long enough to eat dinner and change to go to mutual. Boo right? Luckily for me, I married a great man and when he goes way past at school (like today) he takes Baylee with him to the church (and camping a few weeks ago). That's helpful for my sanity. And a few weeks ago I decided to go visit my mom and hang out there for that Wednesday, so ...

I'n so Happy

I cleaned out the couches this morning and found a little bouncy ball in the cushions. I gave it to Baylee and she was so excited. She kept telling me, "You find a ball for me!" She wanted to play catch so I told her I would after I took something out to the garage. I had my hands full and asked Baylee to hold the door open for me. She did for a few seconds while I was out there then she told me she was going to close the door. Right after I hear the door close I can hear her running around in circles in the kitchen saying, "I'n so happy! You find a ball for me. I'n so happy!"

Return of Spiky the Duck

Image
More like unspiky the duck. Baylee's first river trip aunt Kathy and uncle Ray bought her these adorable duck jammies and we all called her spiky the duck because of her awesome hair. Tate has much less hair so I shall call him unspiky the duck.

Content Baby

So I'm just now learning that I can't post videos from my little blogger app. Sad day. I took a video of Tate to show how sweet he is. It was boring anyway. He was laying in his crib, all wrapped up, staring up at his teddy bear mobile. He was wide awake and had been for the past 45 minutes and was past feeding time. No binky and no sounds. I got him up after and brought him to the living room to change his bum. He was so happy just laying on the floor though so I played with him for a few minutes before he ate. Here's his picture 20 minutes past feeding time. What an angel child!

Smiles

As I was feeding Tate tonight, I noticed he wasn't really eating. I looked down to see that he was much too busy smiling! He hasn't mastered the whole smiling while eating thing yet.

Fell asleep in mom and dad's bed, watching tangled.

Burps

Whenever Baylee hears a bodily function come from someone, she takes it upon herself as a personal challenge!  She starts burping away.  I know she's my daughter and all but good gracious, she's two years old!!  No, I did not teach her this, she learned this all on her own.     Oh and I just got a blogger app on my phone which I'm super excited for!  I know, nerd alert, right?  But I may actually blog a lot more now, with pictures and videos too since the majority of those come from our phones anyway.  Fair warning, many more posts to come.

Delish!

A delicious slice of heaven for breakfast!! And Baylee still wouldn't eat it.

A picture to go with Tate's birth story.

Tangled

While I was getting ready for the day, Baylee was watching Tangled in our room.  I don't mind this movie, in fact, I actually quite like it.  I often sing along and, as with any other movie I've seen or heard hundreds of times, quote it as it goes.  As I'm singing the first song, Baylee wants to sing too apparently.  She would mumble and hum and try to sing along and at the end of a line get the last word.  I didn' know she sort of knew the songs .  Then it jumps to Flynn and his robber dude friends sliding down the castle and Baylee says, "Oh!  Slide down now!"  She jumps off the bed and starts trying to slide on the floor.  As if that wasn't funny enough she then quotes along with Flynn and says, "Guys, I want a castle."  "If we do this job, you can buy your own castle."  It's a little bit embarrassing how well she knows her shows.

Perfect

Sometimes I can't help but feel like my life is perfect.  As I sat in one of three available seats in my living room, (even though we have a couch, a love seat and a recliner) holding this perfect baby, I couldn't help but feel like I was in the perfect moment.  Even though there are dirty diapers strewn about, laundry piled up in the hallway and dinner still lingers in the air (and the kitchen), it was perfect.  Tate was snuggled up in my arms holding my fingers with both of his hands.  He sat there so peacefully, and wide awake.  I can't believe that I get to be his mom!  I love this baby so much!

I Missed My Kids

I got home from St. George this afternoon.  It was such a fun trip with just my sisters and mom!  I left the kids home with dad but I sure did miss them.  Dustin and I met back at home about 15 minutes after feeding time for Tate.  He had been crying because he was hungry.  I started walking up to his carseat to get him out and I was talking to him and smiling, I missed him so much!  And even though it was past time to eat, he started smiling at me!  He had tears in his eyes and everything but he was smiling and cooing instead of crying.  He's so sweet!      And then tonight during family scriptures we read our little section, Baylee was sitting on Dustin's lap peacefully.  He finished and went to close his scriptures when Baylee's sweet, soft, little voice said, "Just a little bit more, dad."  Too cute!  I missed them for sure.  Not enough to distract from having a wonderful t...

Pineapple Pancakes in Bed

When Dustin laid Baylee down for bed tonight she wanted him to hold her as usual.  He decided to lay in bed next to her for a minute and they were sharing "pineapple".  He told her two more bites then he had to go.  She said, "Maybe mom come in."  Dustin told her he would ask me.  I went in and she said, "Lay down!"  I climbed into bed next to her, luckily Dustin had prepped me a little bit before I went in about what was going on.  (The only actual toy she had with her was a little spongebob figurine.)  I hold the spongebob, which is the pineapple, I guess because he lives in a pineapple that's how she came up with that.  It turned into pancakes though because we were putting syrup on it.  So I hold the pineapple and she cuts it with her fork and knife then puts the pieces on her plate which sits on her chest.  She reaches to the side to get us some syrup and pours it all over the plate.  Then she give...

Tate's Blessing Day

Image
Tate was blessed on August 12, 2012.  It was a beautiful day and so much fun to have so much family come support us!  We got Shantell to take a few quick pictures of us before church.  And after everyone left Baylee wanted to hold Tate and "take a video".  I'm grateful for her vanity sometimes. And I'm happy to say that his name remains Tate Israel Fausett:) Our little family

Happy Baby

Tate is such a sweet boy!  I love him soo much!  And he's such a happy, smiley baby too.  He's always so smiley after he eats and gets a bum change.  Sadly, I can't quite capture it on video.  But here's a little glimpse of it.  Oh and Baylee loves it too.  So cute, one of her new favorite games is "make him smile".  She mimics the sounds I make and will tap his nose just like I do, or stroke his cheek.  (More like poke, but it still works.)  Love my kids. Oh, and I love the way Tate's whole face lifts when he sees me and smiles.  His eyebrows and forehead go up as his huge smile forms that makes his eyes a little squinty.

Tate's Story

I finally finished writing down the labor and delivery story with Tate.  I started proofing it and got bored since I've been staring at it for two months now trying to get it done.  Also, it's pretty graphic, and embarrassing, and indeed long.  Read at your own risk.  :) I was tired of being pregnant, and at the same time, terrified to give birth again and have another little baby. After Baylee was born, Doctor Baxter told us to expect early babies. I think I must’ve expected it a little too much. 33 weeks and 1 day hit (the day Baylee was born) and I sent out a text to my family that I had officially made it farther in Tate’s pregnancy than I had with Baylee’s. I was pretty excited, and happy that the baby could be a little healthier. I also think that is the point that I decided I could try to start progressing things, slowly, of course. And if he wasn’t born by week 35, I was really going to start working. And I did. 35 weeks came a...

Bugs

Is it really possible that I moved from one bug infested, basement apartment to an above ground place that is actually worse ?  Answer: yes!  I can't believe it!  There are soo many bugs here!!  UGH!!  I can't seem to get rid of them!!  I've already sprayed the house, and that apparently didn't help much.  AND I've even been praying for them to go away.  I've never thought to pray for help to make bugs leave my house, but everything else seems pretty hopeless.       You know what else, I'm not all that bad anymore about spiders.  Within reasonable size, of course.  Well the spiders here are not within that reasonable size.  What gets me the most though are the earwigs!  Puke!!  I hate earwigs with a burning passion inside my heart!!!!!  And I have about a zillion residing with me.  I truly don't think I'm exaggerating that number.      It mig...
