The Videos I Promised

My crazy ball of energy that is Baylee.  Also the translation for what she says is, "I'm dancing and being funny." Conference and a long car ride after lots of fun with cousins, who wouldn't fall asleep? That sound is Tate's way of saying, "I want some of your food, please."  And yes, I let my toddler feed my infant.  She is seriously a life saver sometimes. It's rare but I am brilliant sometimes.  I hung the shower curtain in the hallway for the kids to play with.  It keep them entertained for a few minutes and it did become a bit of a hazard.

The ER Story

Image
So last week I got really sick very suddenly.  I think I may end up sparing a lot of the details to keep from grossing people out and to save face for me:).  Tuesday was fine, everything and everyone was well.  Tuesday night comes and Dustin and I go to bed kind of late, as we usually do.  Around 3 AM I woke up feeling just a little nauseated, enough to get me out of bed though.  Let's just say, it takes a lot to get me out of bed!  I will usually try and sleep sicknesses off, especially if I was already asleep.  Well I also don't get nauseous very often, or throw up often.      I got out of bed to use the bathroom, thinking I'd feel better and be able to fall back asleep after.  No such luck.  I accidentally woke Dustin up on my way out to the couch.  I told him I wasn't feeling too well and that I'd go out to the living room and kids' bathroom so I don't keep him up.  I set up camp on the couch...

Punkins

Image
Punk kids and pumpkins.  Punkins.   Picking our pumpkins at the pumpkin patch Painting them for fhe He did eat some :S They get bored fast.  Tate lasted about four minutes with the painting.  He was done before I even sat down to start mine.  Not an exaggeration.  The finished products.  Dustin's has two sides.   More to come about my hopeful trip to the ER last week and my discouraging follow up at the doc's office today.

Well, Tate's walking.  Heartbreak.  Excitement.  Pride.  Sadness.  All rolled up into one crazy, nameless emotion.  It just happened, just like that.  It was Sunday the 15th that he realized he can get from point A to point B by walking.  And he does.  He's doing really well with it.   He will still fall a lot and revert back to crawling to finish out his journey, but I think he'll be walking by the time he is officially 15 months old (4 days away).  I'm one big mess about it too.  I've already cried several times because my baby is no longer a baby!  And it is definitely not time for another one!!  Anyone have a newborn they'd like to loan me?   Baylee is being such a sweetheart.  Making up for Tate being a huge pill I guess.  We went to grandma's house earlier this week to stop me from killing one, if not both, of them.  It worked.  Both kids are still breathing.  Success!    ...
I'm in the other room and Baylee and Tate are in our bedroom.  Baylee is bossing Tate around and keeping him out of things like she does and then I hear her say excitedly, yet calm, "A picture of Jesus!"  Then even more calmly and quietly, "I remember you."  Sweet moments.   Then I heard her reading, "guh aw duh".  She was reading my Faith in God For Girls booklet.  She even opened it and started talking about going to church with grandma?  Then said the end.  As she was trying to read "God" and sound it out, she was getting confused and deemed it said "dog".  Same letters, must be confusing.  We've spelled and read "dog" with her a lot, but never "God".
Baylee reading scriptures.  And being a ham.  As per usual. Tate helping daddy fix the fence.

Two More

More videos Dinner with Tate. Dinner with Baylee.

Videos as Promised;)

Playing at grandpa's office. Possibly the best dollar we've ever spent. Summer wanted Dustin to witness Baylee calling her by name. Baylee can sleep through anything!  (Except the night.  Grr.)  I'm pretty sure he was leaning over and pulling her hair and hitting her head at one point. More to come at a normal hour.

First steps!

Image
I know it's been a long time but I figure I should record Tate's first steps!  August 25, 2013.  During church today, in my primary class.  He was pushing a small chair around the room, then pointed to another.  I moved it closer to him but not too close.  I was seeing if he'd maybe attempt a step or at least get him to stand on his own.  Lo and behold he took four steps!   Not wobbly, baby steps either.  They were four, very calculated, very sturdy, steps!   Here are a few pictures I have.  I feel like I haven't had anything worth posting for quite some time because I've been in an awful slump of sorts lately, and my kids have been tantrum throwing monsters!  So I haven't had any nice or positive words for awhile.  But, they still can be cute.  At times:).  Baylee and cousin Jakob, going for a ride with aunt Shantell.  Looks comfy.  Big girl car seat.  My actual life, in case anyone was wondering. ...

Some Videos

Here is a post dedicated to a few more videos This one makes me happy and sad.  When he was younger and just starting to play, he would grab a cup and put it in his mouth, then take a second to get it balanced just right and let go with his hands.  He was always so proud of himself!  You could see him smiling and getting excited and huffing.  His chubby, little cheeks all puffed up in smiles, and his chubby hands opening and closing in excitement.  I never did get a video of that one, this one will have to do. Sometimes, when Tate's playing, he needs a quick break on something soft, then he's ready to get up and go some more. He's such a twit. I often take a morning nap when Tate does, I'm kind of pathetic like that.  When he wakes up, Baylee gets excited and wants to go check on him.  I usually tell her no because I'm still tired and not ready to get up.  I ask her to wait a few minutes then finally give her t...

Prayers

Image
While Baylee was saying the prayer last night, she strayed from her typical, memorized prayer.  It usually goes, "...please, please bless our food and will sleep good and grateful for milk and family and ask it...Amen."  We worked really hard to get a grateful section in there for her, too.  It ended up being milk and family and that stuck for awhile.  We keep trying to encourage gratitude, "Let's tell Heavenly Father what we're thankful for.  Let him know we are so thankful for this food He has blessed us with." etc.      Well, last night, she made an addition to her thankful section.  It went as follows.  "...grateful for boys."  Bah!  What?   Three years old!!   How did that happen?  So after the prayer I tried to convince myself (by talking to Baylee and making sure she agreed, a little mental game perhaps) that she meant dad and Tate as "boys".  She did agree pretty easily, so maybe...
