Baylee's Walking...sorta

Baylee took her first steps on Valentine's night. It wasn't really expected by any means. I'm glad she did, but still a little shocked. She never really stood on her own unless there was great distraction near by. She could do it, she just never seemed to want to. She did really good too the next day or two after. I would practice with her a little bit and she would have fun. She even ventured off on her own a few times. Then she would usually get hurt because of it and I think regress a little. After those two days were over she stopped entirely for another two days. She refused to walk! When we tried to stand her up and coerce her to walk to us, she would get mad and stop everything to sulk a little. But, she's doing much better now! I think she enjoys it. And I think I have a little while until she's actually walking, it's just a few steps for right now:).

After a little while I think she got a little tired and she created her own new game out of it. She keeps her feet planted but leans forward all the way and expects us to catch her.


Here is another day, she's gotten better. She's uber wobbly! My favorite kind!


She loves it.

    WOWEE! This is such an improvement from the nose-diving she was doing last time I saw her.

    And Rach, what are up with those argyle pants? Pajamas or dress pants? I am befuddled by them.

Here is Tate, trying to get as far away from me as possible. He needs a diaper change and he knows it.  See how he's squishing it?  Gross.  He is throwing a tantrum though for whatever reason and doesn't want me to touch him, but wants his diaper changed. So it stands to reason that the best option would be to rip it off himself... And then climb into a bar stool.  Naturally.  Because that's what you do after you change your own bum.

Sweet Tater Bug

     Tate is such a sweetheart!  Here are some of the things he's said to me recently:      He's a sweetheart, yes, but also incredibly difficult.  He doesn't seem to listen.  He has a very hard time following simple orders and we get increasingly frustrated.  We clearly need to learn patience.  The kids were helping Dustin set something up when he got home from work.  He had asked the kids to stop touching certain things and after a few times of repeating himself and kids not listening, he got on Tate's case about it a little more.  Tate then came into the other room and told Baylee, "Sometimes I want to cry but I try really really hard not to and I go away from all my family."  How heartbreaking is that?!  He's my kid that, I thought, let everything roll right off of him.  He was able to easily move on and not get upset when he was in trouble or lovingly reprimanded.  I guess I need to pay more atte...
